After much deliberation, my eldest son has finalized his schedule for the upcoming school year:
- Math: Algebra 2
- Science: Chemistry
- English: Composition
- Social Science: World History & Cultures
- Social Science: World Geography
- Fine Arts: Violin
- Fine Arts: Viola
After a few weeks, if it looks like time allows, he’ll add geometry. This would allow him to study pre-calculus next year, and calculus/statistics his senior year.
The science focus will be on chemistry. My son really wanted to study physics, but given the amount of research that will be required for history and composition, a second science lab might be too much. Having just completed a year of biology, he realizes that the standard is pretty high and it might be better to wait. I will probably order the textbook and supplies so that my budding engineer can begin physics as soon as he is done with the chemistry course.
