Sample Goals: Foreign Language

Continuing the series on academic goals…

Foreign language is not currently a required subject under my state’s homeschooling laws.  However, high-school level foreign language is an entrance requirement for most colleges (two years of the same language).  This makes the study of a foreign language a very good idea.

Language study is also a good idea from the standpoint of getting along with the rest of the world’s citizens.

Foreign Language

• learn the basics of classical Latin
• learn the basics of Koine Greek
• have an introduction to the main languages spoken throughout the world
• prayerfully select (at least) one major world language in which to become fluent
